Which Manufacturers Are in Scope of the EUBR?

Companies selling batteries in the EU are in scope of the Batteries Regulation, including those that manufacture, import, or distribute batteries or goods containing batteries.

Companies must identify and address risks in their supply chains and publicly report on their due diligence actions​, among other data points.

What Are the Key EUBR Deadlines?
  • April 2025: Companies should establish their due diligence program and begin supplier outreach
  • August 18, 2025: Obligations related to end-of-life management and supply chain due diligence kick in
  • August 2025 to mid-2026: Due diligence programs must be approved by the appropriate notified body; due diligence reports must be published
  • August 2026: Labeling requirements come into effect
  • 2027 onwards: Regular audits and further product sustainability requirements kick in
