About Teamvantage
Teamvantage is a custom contract manufacturer and injection molder based in Minnesota. Since 1972, Teamvantage has designed, developed, manufactured, and assembled everything from essential components to finished devices and equipment for their customers.
Teamvantage works with customers in the medical device and defense industries, both of which are highly regulated. To cope with regulatory complexity and increasing customer demands, they turned to a supply chain data collection service provider for help, but it wasn’t long before they realized the service provider lacked the regulatory expertise needed to approve documentation.
So, Teamvantage began its search for a service provider that had the expertise and knowledge needed to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
The Journey to Assent
Once again in the market for a supply chain sustainability management provider, Kelly Stichter, Senior Vice President, General Manager at Teamvantage, outlined their requirements: deep regulatory expertise and efficient process workflows. They went back and reviewed the service providers they had previously considered and one option stood out from the rest. Ultimately, they chose Assent.
A Clear Choice
According to Teamvantage, three qualities set Assent apart:
- Deep regulatory expertise
- Efficient, automated workflow
- Transparency into supplier performance
Assent’s subject matter experts and automated capabilities allowed Teamvantage to quickly respond to customer and regulatory requests with confidence.
Working Smarter With Assent
Thanks to Assent, Teamvantage gained deeper insights into its supply chain and the sustainability risks it hides.
But their choice wasn’t only about the destination — it was also about the journey. The Assent team retrieved supply chain data from Teamvantage’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, offering Teamvantage support that went above and beyond what they’d experienced with other service providers. Kelly and her staff were impressed with all the dedicated resources they received to ensure implementation was smooth and efficient.
Once Teamvantage’s supply chain data was loaded into the Assent Supply Chain Sustainability Platform, Assent began surveying in-scope suppliers to collect declarations for REACH, RoHS, conflict minerals, Proposition 65, and EU MDR. As a result, Teamvantage received accurate, timely data they could trust. They were able to respond to their customers faster, solidifying their reputation as compliance and sustainability leaders.
Kelly commented, “The professionalism and the proactiveness have been great. We have the ability to access information and turn it around to our customers quickly.”
Growing Stronger: Program Results
After working with Assent, Teamvantage has created a competitive edge. It can confidently deliver necessary supply chain data to its customers, boosting efficiency.
Kelly estimates Teamvantage saves eight hours a week on average thanks to Assent. That’s a 15–20% reduction in time spent on those tasks. Teamvantage spends two hours less on average responding to customer requests for information because the Assent platform makes it easy and fast to respond to queries.
Teamvantage has also seen clear qualitative benefits. Kelly noted that Teamvantage customers are much happier now that the manufacturer can respond quickly and confidently to requests.
Because Teamvantage spends less time managing customer requests, there’s also more time for other valuable projects that support corporate growth. Teamvantage employees can now work on optimizing its ERP system and pitch in with tasks like quality system updates as well as engineering change documentation and workflows.
