Q&A With Somto Odili
Q: What do you love most about working at Assent?
A: What I really enjoy about working at Assent is simply the fact that we are a company that practices what we preach, and basically that means we are sustainable through and through, internally and externally. And this spreads across the people, the product, and the facility itself.
Q: What do you think about the relationship between diversity and a company’s success?
A: I do believe that diversity in tech, and sales in particular, just really makes a company approachable, and you cannot really succeed as a company if you don’t have the right people.
…If people find people like myself and find other people of color and other women in sales positions, they feel like, yes, I can put my resume out there. I can really make a difference.
Q: What brought you to Assent?
A: It was highly due to my first Assent contact, which was Keira Torkko. She made me feel like Assent was a place that valued people for who they were and what they stood for rather than their looks. My decision to choose Assent was further strengthened by the interview process and what I saw about the company in the public.
Q: How would you describe Assent’s corporate culture?
A: The corporate culture at Assent is one about continuous learning, inclusivity, and conscious growth.
Q: How do you feel that Assent helps you make a positive impact on the world?
A: …In terms of the companies Assent works with and targets, I believe Assent’s enlightening about what is happening in supply chains across various countries is helping people/companies be aware and have those difficult but necessary conversations. Without having difficult conversations on what is wrong and what could be changed, no one will ever think to change the status quo.
