The Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) has released new versions of the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) and Cobalt Reporting Template (CRT).

The CMRT 6.0 and CRT 2.1 were released on May 13, followed by CMRT 6.01 and CRT 2.11 on May 19 to fix bugs. The templates represent the latest versions of the organization’s industry-standard templates for responsible minerals reporting.

The intent is that these templates will be used for the upcoming conflict minerals reporting year, with Conflict Minerals Reports (CMRs) due in May 2021.

The CMRT 6.0 and 6.01 version updates include:

  • Bug and error corrections.
  • Updates to the ISO country, state and province lists.
  • Changes to conform with IPC-1755, which incorporates questions to support compliance with the EU Conflict Minerals Regulation.
  • Updates to the Smelter Reference List and Standard Smelter List.

Updates to the CRT 2.1 and 2.11 include:

  • An updated Smelter Reference List.

The next version of the CRT is expected to be released in the fall of 2020, while the next version of the CMRT is due in May 2021.
