Three members of Assent Compliance’s regulatory team were recognized by the Association Connecting Electronics Industries (IPC) at a February 26 awards ceremony held during the IPC APEX Expo 2018 in San Diego, CA.
The Committee Awards Luncheon celebrated the contributions of the 2-18k Materials and Substances Declaration for the Aerospace, Defense, Heavy Equipment and Other Industries working group, which was formed three years ago to develop the IPC-1754 standard.

Assent Compliance subject matter experts James Calder (pictured top right), Valerie Kuntz (pictured top left) and Raj Takhar were recognized.
Raj received a Special Recognition Award for his leadership in developing the IPC-1754 standard. Raj is Assent’s Materials Management and Chemical Reporting (Europe) Subject Matter Expert.
James and Valerie each received a Distinguished Committee Service Award. The award is presented to IPC committee members who have made an exceptional contribution to a specific standard or IPC program.
James is Assent’s Vice President, Compliance & Regulatory Programs, and has over 12 years of compliance experience.
Valerie is Assent’s Materials Management Subject Matter Expert, and specializes in Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) and Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) implementation processes. She was also recognized at the award ceremony for her work with the IPC-1753 standard.
Raj, James and Valerie joined the other IPC-1754 committee chairs and members, who contributed significant amounts of time over the past three years to develop the standard.
Committee co-chairs Walter Jager, Rick Shanks and Jean-Pierre Theret were also recognized at the awards ceremony for their leadership of the committee.
