Krystal Cameron, Assent Compliance’s Senior Director, Product Market Engagement has been named a recipient of the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce and Ottawa Business Journal’s (OBJ) Forty Under 40 for 2019.

The annual awards recognize the city’s best and brightest young business leaders, who will be formally presented with their awards at a gala event in June.

“I’m honored to stand beside such an outstanding group of Ottawa business leaders as one of this year’s Forty Under 40 award recipients,” Krystal said. “It’s truly humbling to be a part of this diverse group of outstanding professionals in the National Capital Region. This award is also a recognition of all the dedicated, hard-working people I work with and learn from at Assent.”

More than 160 applications were submitted for the 40 spots on the prestigious list, according to the Ottawa Business Journal.

“The talent in this Forty Under 40 class represents the present and future for Ottawa’s business community,” said Ian Faris, president and CEO of the Ottawa Board of Trade, in a statement. “These young business leaders represent the pioneering and visionary thinking that will generate tremendous economic growth in our community, and puts the region on track as the centre of talent attraction and innovation in Canada.”

Krystal joined Assent Compliance in 2011 as Regulatory Manager for Key Accounts. Since then, her involvement has focused on helping to build the Customer Success Management, Program Management, and Implementation teams as well as the development of a dedicated Customer Success training program. Krystal quickly grew into the role of Senior Director of Product Market Engagement,  where she launched Assent’s first Product Market Engagement team, and took ownership of Product Market Engagement, Product Communications and Product Operations.

The Forty Under 40 award recipients are chosen based on professional accomplishments and community involvement. Krystal has donated her time to coaching boys’ hockey, as well as fostering dogs through Hopeful Hearts, and volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and the Sexual Assault Center of Edmonton.

“Krystal’s hard work, grit and outstanding leadership have been paramount in growing Assent’s Customer Success team and now Product Market Engagement team,” said Assent’s Vice-President, Marketing. “This recognition for her professional achievements and community involvement is extremely well deserved. She is an amazing example of the tremendous amount of talent and leadership we’ve built here at Assent.”

Assent Compliance co-founders Jonathan Hughes and Matt Whitteker, as well as Assent’s VP, Marketing Laura Sweet, are all former recipients of the award.
