I am thrilled to announce that Assent has achieved ISO 27001:2022 certification. It marks a major accomplishment in our commitment to information security and risk management. ISO 27001 (information security, cybersecurity and privacy protection) is the globally recognized standard for information security management systems (ISMS). It reinforces our dedication to proactively safeguarding supply chain cyber security and being active partners to our customers.

While this certification is a huge achievement, it’s just one milestone in our unwavering commitment to security and customer trust — a commitment embedded in Assent’s culture since day one.

More Than a Certification: Our Culture

We take meeting industry standards and certifications seriously, and it’s not just about patting ourselves on the back. They give our customers confidence that we’re aligned with security best practices.

In 2016, we took an important step and obtained our SOC 2 Type II certification. Nearly a decade later, we’re still maintaining it. And we’ve continued to grow from there.

Achieving ISO 27001 certification represents how our security policies and practices continue to evolve alongside emerging requirements and new cybersecurity threats. It requires dedication and collaboration across Assent’s infrastructure, product development, engineering, customer success, and IT.

Every Assentee plays a critical role in protecting customer data. A regular security training regimen is part of everyone’s core responsibilities. Assent leadership consistently champions security. For all of us, it’s a priority, not merely an obligation.

Our proactive approach to security reflects our deep-rooted commitment to earning customer trust. Security at Assent is built on a healthy balance of internal controls and external validation, including:

  • Third-party audits and certifications
  • Regular penetration testing — identifying and addressing potential vulnerabilities before they become risks
  • Continuous monitoring and improvement — evolving our security measures to stay ahead of emerging threats

Protecting What Matters Most: Our Customers

At Assent, our customers are at the center of everything we do. Supply chain cyber security is no exception. Durable goods manufacturers seek us out to help build more resilient supply chains — but they need trust and security first.

For them, security is more than just a box to check. It’s a critical business requirement. A security breach could result in major operational disruptions and financial losses, affecting their supply chains and customers. Our customers and their stakeholders rely on us to protect what matters most.

Our team’s mission is to listen to our customers and develop a deep understanding of their requirements:

  • Adapting to evolving cyber security in the supply chains landscape
  • Meeting (and exceeding) their security expectations with certifications and by maintaining a robust infrastructure
  • Meeting software for supply chain security best practices
  • Ensuring security is woven into every part of our organization, including our platform, infrastructure, internal policies, physical safeguards, and digital protections

The Future of Security

Handling customer data in an era of artificial intelligence (AI) demands a disciplined approach to supply chain security and software

Assent has long recognized the importance of AI tools for data security. Our Security team is actively experimenting with embedding AI-driven technologies to enhance our response times and detect vulnerabilities faster.

As AI adoption grows across our organization and our customers’, so does the need for responsible governance and oversight. Customers need to know that Assent is using AI responsibly and with the right safeguards in place. We apply the same rigor to AI governance as we do in all aspects of our security culture. We’re keeping emerging ISO standards for AI governance on our radar.

Technology will change, but our commitment to security won’t.

Trust Is Earned & We Take That Seriously

We prioritize customer trust in every business decision we make and every product we deliver. Our approach to security evolves with the needs of our customers, threats in the digital world, and increasing complexity of global supply chains. But it’s always been the bedrock of what we do.

By proactively staying ahead of security trends and certifications, we give customers the confidence to focus on their strategic business goals.
