Overview of CMRT 6.0 & 6.01 Update
On May 13, the RMI released CMRT 6.0, with an update to 6.01 on May 19 to account for bug fixes. The updates signal another step toward a streamlined approach to responsible minerals that extends into more high-risk regions and industries. The intent is that these templates can be used for the upcoming conflict minerals reporting year, with reporting due in May 2021. The updates include:
- Bug and error corrections.
- Updates to country, state, and province lists.
- Alignment with updates to IPC-1755 to support EU conflict minerals requirements.
- Updates to the Smelter Reference List and Standard Smelter List.
This will allow companies to manage new data fields for compliance with the EU Conflict Minerals Regulation, which means the CMRT is still your first resource for acquiring data.
