Although sustainability is a continuous journey, there are summits along the path that stand out as major landmarks. B Corporation™ (B Corp™) certification is certainly one of these milestones, representing some of the highest standards in transparency and sustainability. Assent is proud to share that we have achieved B Corp certification following a successful impact assessment and sustainability scoring process.
This certification, considered the “Triple A” rating of businesses, lets the world know that Assent is a company using the power of business for good. The certification process included a deep dive into our policies and practices for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) best practices. It also required a total business impact assessment to understand the ways we help our customers improve their own ESG footprint — B Corps like Assent are expected to not only have a net positive effect on sustainability, but to also empower their entire network to do the same.
Assent now joins the exclusive circle of businesses with B Corp status, with the notable distinction of being the only North American software company to hold both B Corp certification and “advanced status” with the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).

What are Certified B Corporations™?
B Corporation certification is a special designation awarded to companies that have passed extremely rigorous due diligence requirements, demonstrating a holistic approach to transparency and accountability. It is considered one of the top independent sustainability certifications available to companies.
Certified B Corporations are for-profit companies that use the power of business to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy. They meet the highest verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. To date, there are more than 2,500 B Corps in 130 industries and 60 countries around the world.
To achieve B Corporation status, Assent had to pass social and environmental performance audits by the B Lab™. B Lab is a nonprofit that serves a global movement of people using business as a force for good™. Their initiatives include B Corp Certification, administration of the B Impact Management programs, and advocacy for governance structures like the benefit corporation. B Lab’s vision is of an inclusive and sustainable economy that creates a shared prosperity for all.
In addition, Assent was required to make a legal commitment to be accountable to all stakeholders, not just shareholders, and to exhibit full transparency by allowing our performance data to be measured against B Lab standards for risk management, total impact assessments, and requirements for multinational corporations, with metrics publicly available on our B Corp online profile.
What Does This Mean for Assent Partners and Customers?
This new certification is third-party proof that Assent’s supply chain sustainability management solutions and our internal governance structures are built to last — a safe investment with a best-in class return on investment for sustainability benefits. It means you can trust that Assent, and your supply chain, is resilient against disruptions, and leading the pack in innovative business practices focused on the global good. By undergoing B Corp auditing, and having our performance metrics made transparent in the B Lab system, Assent will be held continuously accountable to our commitment to economic sustainability and ESG, driving us forward in our mission to help manufacturers deliver responsible and sustainable products to market.
